Welcome to the Moretown School French Website!

Have a wonderful summer, Everyone! I'm looking forward to seeing many of your children in August!

Congratulations to the 6th graders!

What a fun day we had yesterday on Paris Day! Students began the day on a "flight" to Paris led by our intrepid pilot Mandy Couturier. We then watched a time lapse video of a walk around Paris to the many sites students would be visiting. You can watch it here: Paris Time Lapse Video .  Students then rotated to various stations including:

* a cafe where they enjoyed baguettes, generously donated by Red Hen bakery and brie and pastries donated by Shaw's,

* the Eiffel Tower where they made marshmallow and toothpick Eiffel Towers and worked on puzzles of Paris

* the Arc de Triomphe where they got to walk through a model of the famous arch and test their knowledge in a game of Jeopardy

* Les bouquinistes who sell books and art along the Seine river and where students were able to pick out a book with 10 fake Euros they were given at the start of the day.

* Le Louvre where they created their own versions of Mona Lisa

* A postcard station where students created their own postcards of Paris

* Le Jardin du Luxembourg where students made tissue paper flowers and boats out of milk cartons and sticks, or played "la petanque" (bocce)

*Le Pont des Arts, the bridge famous for the locks people put on the fencing to show their love for someone, where students created their own locks.

*Notre Dame where students had to make it through an obstacle course and collect various items from the cathedral and could also color a stained glass coloring page

It was great seeing the kids having fun and learning. I hope they shared some of their excitement with you.

Hi, my name is Erika Lindberg and I am the French teacher at Moretown Elementary School. I am also the French teacher at the Fayston Elementary School.

On this site you will find news on what your children are doing in French class as well as resources for both parents and students.  I will update this site as we begin new topics and projects.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.  E-mail is the best way of contacting me as I am only at the Moretown School on Mondays and Thursdays.  My e-mail address is:  elindberg@wwsu.org.

MES students have access to a great new online language learning tool called Linguascope. I have shared log-in information with the students in a letter. Unfortunately, I cannot share that information online but if you or your child needs the log-in information please feel free to email me (elindberg@huusd.org).

NOTE:  Access to this website expires on 6/30. It was purchased with grant money and is too expensive to purchase without additional funding (about $500).

I have compiled many websites that are categorized by subject.  There are cultural websites as well as games, songs and French language exercises.  You can access these by visiting  http://www.portaportal.com  and entering ErikaLindberg in Guest Access.
